Why The Summer Rains?
The name The Summer Rains came to life in 2021 after years of experimenting with different ideas. Jidhun wanted a name that reflected the whirlwind of emotions that unfold during a wedding. It was our co-founder and Jidhun’s partner, Anjuna, who came up with the idea of using an oxymoron-a combination of contrasting elements -to encapsulate the idea of intense emotions in a wedding. Summer rains, with their mix of warmth and sudden downpours, beautifully represent the range of feelings experienced on a wedding day: joy, excitement, tears, and laughter. It’s a name that tells a story of contrasts and emotions, much like the weddings we capture

About Our Founder
Jidhun, the visionary behind The Summer Rains, began his journey much like many other photographers—as an engineer with a passion for creativity. His love for photography sparked when his cousin gifted him a camera, introducing him to a world of endless possibilities. Initially drawn to landscape and portrait photography, Jidhun’s path took a transformative turn when a close friend asked him to document his sister’s wedding. That experience marked the beginning of what would become a passionate journey in storytelling through wedding photography.
In Jidhun’s Words:
“Though I’m not an outgoing social person, I adore weddings. For me, weddings are a space where emotions are raw and unfiltered. There’s joy, tears, anxiety, confusion—a beautiful chaos that’s uniquely different for every couple yet deeply universal. I love documenting these moments as authentically as I can, preserving their real essence.”
Over the years, Jidhun has documented more than 200 weddings, each with care and attention to the tiny details that make every love story unique. Alongside his wedding photography, Jidhun’s expertise in landscape photography has earned him international acclaim, working with renowned brands like Samsung, Oppo, Honda, Jawa, and Lowepro. His work has also been recognized with prestigious awards, including multiple Wedding Sutra accolades in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
